Hard and Soft Enamel Pins have many similarities. They’re made the same way before color filling. Both styles are die-struck out of steel or brass. Die striking leaves indentations where the color fills to ensure that metal lines remain raised to separate colors and add detail. Hard enamel goes on as a powdered polymer and is fired in a kiln to set the enamel. Soft enamel is similar to car paint, applies as liquid, and then baked to dry.
