[ Plating and Dyeing ] What is the difference between plating and dyeing?
Plating is the process of plating a thin layer of other metals or alloys on the surface of some metals by electrolysis. plating has some options. In general, it can be classified into two parts. One is a shiny playting like gold, nickel, brass, copper and black nickel. Another is an antique plating like anti-gold, anti-silver, anti-copper. This color looks like the metal itself.
Dyeing is the act of dyeing a substance by chemically or otherwise affecting the substance itself. You can choose any color that you want to dyeing like black, red and so on. Usually, soft enamel will use dyeing.
[ Rainbow Plating ] Do you have rainbow plating?
Rainbow plating is one of the most distinctive platings, which can make your Challenge Coin stand out. It is like the color of a rainbow. You will see it when you choose soft enamel Challenge Coin and sandblast Challenge Coin on the Automated Quotation System.
[ Dual Plating/Two-tone Finsh ] What is dual plating and can I use it on my Challenge Coin?
Dual plating is a combination of different 2 platings. The most popular two-tone finish is gold and silver plating. They can get an amazing effect. But you need to pay for this special plating.
[ Printing ] Silkscreen Print, Offset Print, and Transfer Print: need to know?
Silkscreen Print: Silkscreen print is to use the screen as the substrate, and through the photosensitive plate making method, making silkscreen print with pictures and text. If your texts of products are small or the design is complex, the manufacturer cannot make it by using a model. GS-JJ usually uses silkscreen print to show its effects. It needs to be emphasized that the text and pattern of silkscreen are self-colored. For example, red texts and blue logo. But there isn’t a gradient pattern. In addition, because offset print can be used in the plane, silkscreen print will be combined with hard enamel to finish the needed design and achieve the desired effect in general.
Offset Print: If your product needs to dyeing many colors, you can choose offset print. Offset print just makes whole products use offset print. Nevertheless, you can’t combine with other crafts. At GS-JJ, there are extra fees needed to be paid.
Transfer Print: The condition of transfer print is almost the same as the silkscreen. Transfer print usually is used in products with a gradient ramp. In addition, when your products have a more complex color, you can also use them. The kind of print is used less in custom Challenge Coin but is widely used in custom lapel pins.
[ UV Printing ] What is UV Printing and how it used on my Challenge Coin?
UV Printing is a fast and special method of digital printing, which uses UV light to dry or cure ink on the metals. Their printing pattern is photo-realistic. Due to their fast production, it is favored by buyers.
[ Shiny Gold V.S. Shiny Brass ] What is the difference between shiny gold and shiny brass?
Gold is a very shiny and bright color. In layman’s terms, it is yellow like wheat. However, brass seems to be rusty with a little green, looking like bronze. It is mixed with white, black, yellow, blue and dye yellow.
[ Rose Pink V.S. Copper ] How to distinguish rose pink and copper?
Rose pink is kind of pink color. But the color is very light. Nevertheless, copper is a very deep color. It seems to jacinth. Copper looks like burning in the furnace.
[ Antique Gold V.S. Antique Brass ] Is there any difference between antique gold and antique brass?
These two colors are very similar, especially in antique Challenge Coin. But if you see carefully, it is easy to distinguish. Antique gold is close to yellow while antique brass is an approach to the green. You can watch them from the side face.
[ Silver V.S Black Nickel ] How to distinguish silver and black nickel?
Silver is shinier than black nickel. Black nickel is a deeper silver. You can see the slight difference from edges.
[ Design artwork ] Can I order this design from your website?
All images in the gallery and exhibition and their designs are the copyrighted designs of our customers. You cannot order someone else’s design without their explicit permission.
[ Metal finish options ] What metal finish options are available?
There is shiny gold, shiny silver, shiny copper, black metal, shiny brass, antique gold, antique silver, antique copper, antique brass, shiny black nickel and rainbow finish.
[ 2D VS 3D ] What is the difference between 2D and 3D?
With a 2D Challenge Coin, the surface will be flat, and the metal linework that makes up the design will be raised, with the top of the line flat. With a 3D Challenge Coin, the surface will be raised, and the design will be detailed and rounded off to give it a 3D effect. 3D will be more expensive.
